The Poltava City Council has approved the development of a vacant lot between Brailky and Gozuly. The detailed plan for the area includes a residential neighborhood with a kindergarten, sports fields, and recreation areas. This is the first time that city authorities have required a future developer to build a social facility alongside housing.
At a session of the Poltava City Council, deputies considered the issue of «Approval of a detailed plan for the territory bounded by Pavlo Gorobets, Maria Bashkirtseva, Gozhuivska, and Myroslav Kubushka Streets».
This involves the development of vacant land between the Brailky and Gozuly microdistricts. The project area covers 12.8 hectares. The project is expected to take 5-10 years to complete. In addition to new high-rise buildings, the DPT provides for the construction of a kindergarten, sports grounds, pedestrian areas, and parking lots. Public hearings on this detailed took place this summer.
During the discussion at the city council session, deputy Sergey Kaplin stated that the issue was being lobbied by developer Sergey Ivashchenko:
«I feel sorry for Kateryna, who takes the blows for the entire mafia, while a cunning, mustachioed old man sits nearby, who set up this whole story with her appointment. Then, together with Brazhnyk, they created a microgroup, and now they roam the city as they please. For two years, she has been taking the blows, while they reap the benefits. I think she is the least of their shadow caste.», — said Kaplin.
As a result, 23 deputies supported the decision. The next step will be to put the vacant land up for auction. The winner of the auction will have to build the entire neighborhood at once, rather than in stages, as is usually the case in Poltava. It is important that the developer will be obliged to build a kindergarten and social infrastructure specified in the project.
